PT WIKA Tirta Jaya Jatiluhur (WTJJ) has introduced a new innovation in the form of ready-to-drink water tap facilities for the public. This initiative reflects the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability while improving community quality of life.

By applying the latest water purification technology, WTJJ aims to deliver an environmentally friendly solution to meet the public’s clean water needs.

WTJJ President Director Rendy Ardiansyah explained that this program represents a concrete step in prioritizing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

“We want to provide easy and free access for the public to obtain safe and healthy drinking water. The technology we use is the result of research and development in distillation and reverse osmosis, allowing the water from the tap to be consumed directly without additional processing,” said Rendy.

The ready-to-drink water tap facility is located in front of the WTJJ office on Jalan Mayor Madmuin Hasibuan, making it easily accessible to pedestrians passing by.

The water is produced through distillation and reverse osmosis treatment — purification methods proven effective in removing contaminants while maintaining water quality.

“With reverse osmosis technology, we can ensure that the water reaching the public is free from germs and harmful substances. This is part of our social responsibility to guarantee access to safe drinking water for everyone,” Rendy added.

This innovation also contributes to reducing reliance on plastic bottled water. Single-use plastic waste remains a serious environmental concern due to pollution and ecosystem damage.

By providing ready-to-drink water taps, WTJJ hopes to minimize plastic consumption and promote greater environmental awareness.

Since its launch in early 2025, the facility has received positive feedback from the community, including street vendors and ride-hailing drivers who benefit from convenient access to clean water near the WTJJ office.

Nuryadi, a tofu vendor, shared that the facility has been especially helpful when walking while carrying his merchandise. He praised the water for being cool and refreshing.

“The water tastes good and fresh,” he said.

Similarly, Sukato, a meatball vendor from Wonogiri who pushes his cart daily, hopes the facility can be expanded to serve more people.

“I’m on the road every day, so having this tap helps a lot. I can use it — not just for drinking, but also for my meatball business operations,” he explained.

WTJJ hopes the presence of this facility will raise public awareness about environmental sustainability while enhancing quality of life. This innovation demonstrates WTJJ’s tangible contribution to supporting government programs aimed at achieving sustainable development goals.

WTJJ is recognized for its achievements at both national and international levels, including:

  1. A record from Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) in four categories, including Indonesia’s largest Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Drinking Water Supply System.

  2. Best ESG Score in Indonesia and Asia in the Water category — ranked among the world’s top three water companies with the highest ESG score, according to S&P Global in March 2025.

  3. Top Three Best Year in Infrastructure 2025 recognition by Bentley Systems, a global infrastructure awards event.

Through the use of advanced technology, WTJJ demonstrates that the company is not solely focused on profit, but is equally committed to social welfare and environmental preservation.
